SapientNitro adds four and Ariad Communications adds three

SapientNitro added four new members to its Toronto office. Both BRENT FARRELL and GEORGE PANOPOULOS joined as vice-president of client services, HOWARD GOLDKRAND joined as director of innovation and ANDREW LIGHT joined as vice-president of strategy.

Corby Spirit and Wine named MAXIME KOUCHNIR vice-president of marketing, replacing JEFF AGDERN, who is now senior vice-president of wine and champagnes at Pernod Ricard USA. Kouchnir was most recently vice-president of marketing for vodkas for Pernod Ricard USA. He has also held positions with Danone in the U.S. and France, Scottish & Newcastle and Johnson & Johnson.

The Exchange Lab appointed NEIL HOUSTON as operations director in Canada. Houston has over 15 years of ad operations and digital media experience. Before joining The Exchange Lab, he was the head of advertising operations with Shaw Media. Houston is the current co-chair of the IAB Ad Operations Committee.

ALITA GONZALEZ joined Woodruff Sweitzer’s Calgary office as associate creative director. During her career Gonzalez has worked at agencies Sid Lee, Zulu Alpha Kilo, Juniper Park, Bruce Mau Design and Taxi in Toronto and Crispin Porter& Bogusky in Miami.

Ariad Communications added three new members to its team. PAUL OUIMETTE, who has more than 13 years industry experience, joined the Toronto agency as a senior art director, while JEFF MACGREGOR and DAN LI joined Ariad as senior copywriter and senior interactive designer, respectively.

GMR Marketing named AILEEN VIROLA as its new group director, client services. Virola recently held positions with Nurun and JWT. She has also held positions at Organic, MacLaren McCann and Henderson Robb Group. Virola joins the agency’s Toronto office.

Industry veteran STEPHEN TAPP joined Influicity as an executive advisor. During the last 25 years, Tapp helped build TSN and launched Viewers’ Choice Pay Per View. Tapp also held many senior level positions at CHUM and had a hand in launching XM Satellite Radio Canada as its president and chief operating officer.

Rogers Media promoted CORBY FINE to vice-president, business development, platforms & innovation, a newly created position within the company. Fine will spearhead all new digital business development, innovation and platform management, and will also lead new digital strategy development working in conjunction with the corporate strategy group.

SARAH SCHMIDT joined Twist Marketing in Calgary as account director from Scout Communications where she held the account supervisor position. Schmidt is overseeing the planning and executing of marketing strategies for the agency’s clients in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
