Travel Manitoba has issued a request for proposals for an agency to provide creative and strategic services for a 2011-12 campaign.

While Fusion Communications and Frantic Films handled the creative for the 2010 campaign, Travel Manitoba usually works with various agencies and design firms on a per project basis, said Linda Whitfield, vice-president, advertising and communications, Travel Manitoba.

According to the RFP, the organization is seeking to "create a distinct, positive impression of Manitoba as a vacation destination" to those living in the province and travellers from North Dakota, Minnesota, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Alberta, which account for 80% of the provinces tourism dollars.

The total budget is slated at $1.5 million to $2 million for all creative services, production costs, and media buys. The media mix is not yet determined.

Agencies are required to provide a team profile, list of awards and distinctions, and sample of past work that is most relevant to Travel Manitoba's objectives.

Proposals must be submitted by Aug. 6. The top three submissions will be selected the following week and in-person presentations will take place the week of Aug. 16.

The organization is also looking to increase the number of visitors to, and time spent on, TravelManitoba.com and related sites.
