Corus Entertainment has redesigned WNetwork.com, improving design and functionality and adding more opportunities for advertisers.

The new site is built on W’s six pillars: beauty and style, relationships, shopping, home and garden, money and food, and health. Each section includes articles, tips and programming relative to that topic.

Visitors to the homepage are prompted to develop their own “My W Page” by listing the categories in order of importance to them.

“We wanted to provide a better user experience,” said Shelley Findlay, vice-president, marketing, women’s specialty television, Corus Entertainment. “We’ve had the luxury of building our online content over the last few years… we just wanted to be able to serve it up to our end user in a more palatable way.”

Video has been integrated throughout each section with pre-roll opportunities for advertisers, said Findlay.

In addition to typical rich-media display ads, the site also offers new integrated display ads, including the masthead found at the top of each page.

Findlay said the network is also encouraging advertisers to integrate themselves within the editorial content.

The site also features “Ask a W Expert,” featuring network hosts like Anna Wallner, Kristina Matisic and Gillian McKeith.

Corus is using TV, online and radio to promote the new site, which was designed by Dashboard and developed by Edentity.

To compliment the revamp, Corus and phone service provider Yak Communications are offering users the chance to win $25,000 to “renovate, renew, rejuvenate or re-invent” any area of their life, through the Reward Yourself with $25,000 Contest. The contest runs for the next three weeks.
