Radio-Canada has launched its new web TV platform TOU.TV–a video content site open to advertisers that will offer users free viewing of more than 2,000 hours of films, documentaries, series, web series and current affairs programs.
"With 15 years of experience on the web and in digital media, Radio-Canada is consolidating its leadership in the field by launching TOU.TV, the biggest French-language web TV entertainment initiative in Canada," said Jean Mongeau, general manager, marketing and sales, in a statement.
To keep the new site stocked with fresh content, the broadcaster has teamed up with more than 20 domestic and international partners, including Télé-Québec, TV5 Monde, TV5 Québec Canada, ARTV, TFO, RDI, RCI, RTS (Switzerland) and RTBF (Belgium).
Radio-Canada said the new web initiative is its "creative response to the shifting media landscape of the 21st century."
The French language broadcaster also announced last week that it has teamed up with Télé-Québec for web sales in Toronto in an effort to more efficiently court regional advertisers for the combined two million unique monthly visitors to Radio-Canada.ca and TeleQuebec.tv.
