Canada Post and Etsy have teamed up to offer Canada Post shipping services to sellers running their independent businesses on the Etsy platform.
The partnership will allow Canadian Etsy sellers to streamline the order fulfillment process by allowing them to create and print shipping labels directly from the Etsy platform.
“We are focused on continually improving the shop management experience for sellers on our platform. We know that shipping is a critical part of that experience, and we also know how precious time is to all Etsy sellers,” said Eric Fixler, director of shipping programs at Etsy in a release. “After developing this new feature alongside Canada Post with a prototype group of over 3,000 sellers, we are now thrilled to offer an efficient and easy-to-use shipping solution to all Canadian sellers.”
Canada Post currently handles 95% of shipments by Canadian Etsy sellers, and the new shipping solution is available to all Canadian sellers who accept payment through the widely used PayPal or Direct Checkout, an Etsy-owned payment system it launched in August 2013.
In 2013, Etsy’s global community of one million sellers sold more than $1.35 billion worth of creative goods.
