Apple and Samsung are locked in a war for the biggest possible slice of the smartphone market – worth an estimated $219 billion, according to Bloomberg Industries.
The battle has even spilled over into the courtroom. In one corner is the brand new iPhone 5. In the other, the Galaxy S III.
Marketers are watching the battle closely, as the popularity of the two phones’ corresponding operating systems, iOS and Android, will be an important factor in how they tailor their mobile communications.
With this much cash on the line, it’s likely both brands will keep on swinging.
