A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

Anomaly names co-chief creative officers. InField Marketing Group adds partners.


Longtime creative partners PETE BRETON and DAVE DOUGLASS left their roles as co-chief creative officers at Lowe Roche to join Anomaly Toronto. SEAN OHLENKAMP, Lowe Roche’s vice-president and digital creative director, will now lead the agency’s creative department.

JON ARKLAY was named senior vice-president of Bell Media Agency and brand strategy to oversee the design, promotion, brand strategy and media buying services for all Bell Media assets. He most recently served as VP, creative and brand for Bell Media.

Microsoft Advertising Canada appointed LYNNE CLARKE its marketing director to oversee the company’s marketing outreach to the client/agency community, promoting marketing platforms including MSN.ca, Windows Live Messenger, Hotmail, Skype and XBox Live. Her past career stints include British media firm eMap (now Bauer Consumer Media) and Carlton Screen Advertising.

After three years at Proximity Canada, ARI ELKOUBY moved to Zulu Alpha Kilo as creative director. At Proximity, Elkouby oversaw major accounts including Mars Canada, Pepsi Canada, HP and Gillette – global accounts that were run out of the Toronto office. His other agency stints include FCB Canada and Fallon Worldwide in Minneapolis.

Hill+Knowlton Strategies Ottawa added two new members to its team and promoted one. JANE BILLINGS joined as vice-president and procurement group leader; JACK HUGHES was promoted to lead the public affairs unit; and KELLY COOPER joined the public affairs team as account director.

DEREK JOYNT and MARTIN RYDLO joined InField Marketing Group in Mississauga as partners. Joynt was most recently director of marketing at Walmart where he developed strategies for merchandise planning, seasonal advertising and in-store experience. Rydlo joined from Campbell Company of Canada where he was the director of marketing, and as such, helped spearhead the company’s cause marketing efforts.

Doug & Serge hired SARO GHAZARIAN and RYAN MCNEIL as senior copywriter and senior art director, respectively. Ghazarian was most recently with BBDO, while McNeill joined the Toronto agency from Lowe Roche.
