Arlene Dickinson’s YouInc partners with Microsoft

YouInc, Arlene Dickinson‘s web destination for entrepreneurs, has a found a new content partner: Microsoft.
Dickinson, the CEO of Venture Communications and a Dragon’s Den judge, launched the site late last year, redesigning it earlier this month. The free, membership-based website features expert tips, lifestyle information and forums for entrepreneurs to connect. Its goal is to provide technical tools, guides and support for entrepreneurs, as well as a place for them to share resources.
“Arlene has a very strong brand as it relates to entrepreneurialism in Canada, fueling this whole movement around entrepreneurship,” said Chitra Anand, head of public relations for Microsoft Canada, and this brand pairs well with Microsoft’s goal of supporting innovation and entrepreneurship.
“Creating and co-creating content is definitely one [market trend] that there’s a real hunger for, so aligning ourselves to a solid person and brand and an organization is one of our key pillars,” said Anand.
On Monday, Microsoft began contributing content to the site, including articles from experts who answer reader questions and special offers for readers.
Beyond the website, Dickinson wants YouInc to grow into an entrepreneurial lifestyle brand that includes podcasts, an e-commerce website and TV shows.
YouInc is part of Arlene Dickinson Enterprises, which also invests in entrepreneurs’ companies in partnership with Kirchner Private Capital Group.
Anand reached out to Dickinson months ago to try and work together, when Dickinson mentioned that she was working on YouInc. “It was quite serendipitous,” said Anand.
