TC Transcontinental has named former BBDO Montreal president Alain Gignac to the newly-created position of chief marketing activation officer.

Gignac, who guided the merger of BBDO Montreal and Nolin BBDO, will be responsible for integrating TC Transcontinental’s print and digital products and marketing solutions, reporting to Francois Olivier, president and CEO of TC Transcontinental.

Gignac has also held senior positions at companies such as Saine Marketing and Cossette Communication Group.

TC Transcontinental announcement of Gignac’s hiring coincided with the naming of his successors at Montreal-based Nolin BBDO. Stephane Charier and Genevieve Grenier were introduced as co-directors general at Nolin BBDO.

Gignac officially joins TC Transcontinental March 5.
