FedEx’s Super-cute PR Move (Psst: It’s pandas!)

FedEx is trying to make the most out of one of its more high-profile deliveries. The courier company donated its services to the Toronto Zoo to ship its two new giant pandas, Er Shun and Da Mao, from China to Canada.
FedEx has shipped pandas before and actually has a special aircraft for animal deliveries, complete with a picture of a panda on the side of the plane. FedEx wouldn’t disclose how much it costs to send a panda across the world, but Jillian McVicar, a senior communications specialist at FedEx, did offer comment on why the company offered its services to the Toronto Zoo.
“The exact value of services is commercially sensitive information, but it’s hard to put a price tag on helping to save an endangered species through conservation and awareness,” she said.
To capitalize on the infinite PR value of cute pandas, FedEx made this video about Er Shun and Da Mao’s trip.
